  • 11 levels of residential apartments (88 apartments)
  • 3 levels of commercial office/retail suites (14 suites)
  • 4 levels basement car parking
  • Plant Rooms, Meeting room and Gymnasium
  • Two residential lifts run from the basement levels
  • One commercial lift runs for four levels
  • Two common electricity supplies service the common areas of the building: foyer lighting, lifts, car park exhaust fans, water pumps, fire service pumps, etc
  • Central solar hot water to individual units
  • A common water cooled air conditioning tower provides chilled water to individual apartment fan units
  • Unwanted junk mail at Nexus was estimated at 35Kgs of paper each week
  • Large piles were placed on the top of mailboxes and strewn across the entrance foyer – this was not a welcoming sight!
  • “No Junk Mail” stickers were applied to 84 of 88 mailboxes
  • Vigilance of the area and returning of any uncollected mail to each apartment for disposal has reduced junk mail by 99.5%
  • This saving equates to approximately 35Kgs of paper each week thus freeing up recycling bins for appropriate paper waste
  • Cost: $0
  • Payback: Immediate
